What's collected

This site collects the minimum necessary to operate:

  • Contact form: Your name, email address, and message when you submit the contact form. This goes to Kory directly via email routing.
  • Newsletter (The Loom): Your email address when you subscribe. Managed through Buttondown.
  • Reading admin: The /reading section uses a Cloudflare KV store accessible only to Kory. No reader data is stored there.
  • Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics collects aggregate traffic data (page views, referrers) without cookies and without tracking individuals.

Why it's collected

  • Contact form data is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Newsletter email is used to deliver The Loom when a new issue ships.
  • Analytics are used to understand general traffic patterns — nothing more.

Where it goes

Your data is processed by two third-party services:

  • Cloudflare — hosts this site, routes contact form emails, and provides Web Analytics. Cloudflare's privacy policy governs how they handle infrastructure data. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Buttondown — manages newsletter subscriptions and delivery. Your email address is stored with Buttondown when you subscribe. See buttondown.com/legal/privacy.

No data is sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models.

Retention

  • Contact form messages are deleted after 90 days unless there is an ongoing conversation that requires them.
  • Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link.

Your rights

You can request deletion of any data associated with your email address at any time. Send a request via the contact page and it will be honored promptly.

Cookies

kehl.io does not set any tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set functional cookies as part of infrastructure operations (DDoS protection, Turnstile verification). These are necessary for the site to function and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Third-party data processors

Two companies process data on behalf of this site:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — Provides hosting (Cloudflare Pages), DDoS protection, email routing, Turnstile bot protection, and Web Analytics. Cloudflare is based in San Francisco, CA. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Buttondown, LLC — Stores newsletter subscriber email addresses and delivers The Loom issues. Buttondown is based in the United States. See buttondown.com/legal/privacy.

No other third-party services receive personal data. No data brokers, no advertising networks, no analytics beyond Cloudflare's aggregate, cookie-free Web Analytics.
